The Electrical Transmission and Distribution Construction and Maintenance Company (ETDCO) Limited is a subsidiary of TANESCO Incorporated on 7th June 2016 as a Private Limited Company pursuant to sections 3(1) and 27(1) of the Companies Act, Act No. 12 of 2002 as amended by the Business Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act, Act No. 3 of 2012. The Company has Certificate of Incorporation No. 126951 and registered with the Contractors Registration Board as Class One Contractor with Registration No. SPTEi/385/05/2019.
The Electrical Transmission and Distribution Construction and Maintenance Company (ETDCO) Limited is 100% (hundred percent) owned by Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO). TANESCO established ETDCO LTD in order to foster more productivity and efficiency so as to support an industrialized Tanzania. ETDCO is a spinoff Company established on the foundation of KAUDA which gives the Company a competitive advantage in the market through various projects previously implemented by KAUDA.
KAUDA or DMT (Dar es salaam Maintenance Team) was established in 1988 under the assistance of JICA to carry out maintenance and timely rehabilitation of Electrical Distribution and Transmission lines to facilitate quality and reliable power supply within the Region. The Unit was later deployed in maintenance and project construction works countrywide until 2016, when it was elevated to ETDCO Limited.
ETDCO LTD is a Company which is a Subsidiary of TANESCO under the Governance of the Board of Directors appointed by the Board of Directors of TANESCO. The Company being fully registered with CRB under Class I is legally entrusted and empowered to undertake all levels of construction and maintenance of electrical Transmission and Distribution infrastructure in-house and outside TANESCO.
